1. Executive Summary
PIT Solutions partnered with the Peace Observatory team to develop a research driven digital platform that empowers researchers, policymakers, NGOs, peacebuilding organizations, and academic institutions to analyze armed conflicts, peace negotiations, mediation efforts, and conflict dynamics through a single, interactive solution.
To enhance research capabilities and improve accessibility of complex peace and conflict data, PIT Solutions transformed the platform from a collection of independent datasets and static visualizations into a comprehensive analytics and visualization ecosystem. The solution integrates conflict event data, peace negotiation records, mediation activities, interactive conflict network visualizations, geospatial mapping, and advanced analytical dashboards, enabling users to explore relationships between conflict actors, identify mediation trends, analyze negotiation outcomes, and gain deeper insights into peacebuilding efforts worldwide.
To support long term research and collaboration, the platform was further enhanced with dedicated Sudan and South Sudan Peace Observatories, administrative tools for managing datasets and research content, and an open source Conflict Network Explorer. As a result, Peace Observatory has evolved into a scalable, data-driven platform that simplifies complex conflict analysis, accelerates research, and enables organizations to make more informed decisions based on comprehensive peace and conflict intelligence.
